Kimaree long

Native southerner by birth and New Orleanian by right, Kimaree chose a west coast tour for college, earning the ubiquitous liberal arts degree from The University of San Diego. A life-long lover of all things sun, surf and sand, Kimaree delayed a return to her southern roots by about 15 years or so, focusing on a film career in Los Angeles.

In 1995, she was hired by Soundelux Entertainment group, where she answered phones by day and learned to sync film dailies at night. Through some good timing, great mentorship and a willingness to work the graveyard shift, she was editing full-time within a few years.

For more than a decade she continued to build her career as an audio editor and supervisor on more than 40 major film productions, including the Academy Award Winner for Best Sound Editing, The Bourne Ultimatum. She is the recipient of The Golden Reel award, recognizing the highest achievement in post-production sound by the Motion Picture Sound Editors, and an active member of the Motion Picture Editor's Guild.

But the years passed, the Los Angeles freeways grew tiresome, and the longing for po-boys and night jasmine grew strong. She returned to New Orleans in 2005, just hours before Hurricane Katrina's arrival. For the past eight years, she has continued to build her career and film credits without sacrificing another Jazz Fest weekend or crawfish season.
